Today marks 2 months since I broke my leg. Literally broke my tibia in half! If you don’t know the story here it goes…. Went on vacation to Bacalar actually went for a friends wedding. If your not familiar with Bacalar it’s a beautiful secluded place in Mexico with the most beautiful waters ever. Its said to be the Maldives of Mexico. You either stay in a hut in the ocean or a small boutique hotel. 2nd day there we take a private sail boat tour. In the middle of the ocean I ask for them to stop the boat and if it was ok for me to jump in…. I got the go!!!! Little did I know it was only about 3 feet deep! I instantly felt the brake it was the worst pain ever!!!! I make my way back onto the boat with my husbands help. The bone is popping completely out didn’t brake skin thank God but you can see it! My adrenaline is pumping I pop it back in place myself! I’m rushed to the “hospital” a hut with 2 beds. I get it slinged and I’m off with pain meds. Still have 4 more days there and the wedding so I enjoyed the rest of my trip literally with a broken leg. I went to the wedding the next day and I relaxed and watched the sunrise and the sunset completely still!!!! Never in my life would I have voluntarily stayed as still as I did then!!!
Came home 4 days later straight into the emergency room to get this big giant cast that I was to have for 5 months!!!!! No way I can do that opted for the surgery. One week later I get surgery and I now have a metal rod going from my knee to my ankle along with some pretty awesome scars. Off to recovery!!! Gave myself a week of rest and to my grind because it’s what kept me sane this whole time!
